Overview

Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1196, by Ñaurondur. The establishment of Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Ñaurondur struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè as a prison colony.

Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè was built using the conventions of Iron Elf durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of broad canals streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city sits behind a stone-renforced palisade wall, with stone gatehouses and timber drawbridges for their trench. Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè's would-be-castle fortifications are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

A look around Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. A second look around Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè makes it abundantly clear the city suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè was attacked by savage trollss living nearby. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè lost 252 people, 186 livestock, and 67 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 47, when members of Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè's militia enacted an operation to defend a particular mage, and ensure they remain out of enemy hands. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the strategic location, which ended in a crushing defeat for Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Thêqë-lêkê Sêdè's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
